Under the thematic axis Data, Innovation, and Smart Cities, this event aims to catalyze public innovation as a driving force for urban transformation, integrating technology, governance, and social participation to generate concrete and scalable solutions.
The event “Bioclimatic Technologies and Innovations for the Cerrado – Oásis Program” proposes a roundtable discussion on bioclimatic architecture as an innovation strategy for public buildings. This approach leverages natural lighting, ventilation, and local climatic conditions to reduce energy consumption, decrease carbon emissions, and create healthier environments. The debate will address the benefits, success stories, and barriers to implementing bioclimatic architecture solutions.
The discussion is connected to the Oásis Program, currently being implemented by the Government of Goiás. The program transforms Goiás’ Schools of the Future into living laboratories of sustainability and socio-environmental innovation, creating an environment for applied experimentation—with living labs, pilots, and prototypes—where reliable data guide decisions and policies, and where schools and other public facilities serve as testbeds.
As a legacy, the initiative seeks to establish institutional commitments with clear goals, responsibilities, and monitoring routines; to consolidate a cooperation network among governments, academia, businesses, and civil society; and to organize a continuity pathway with projects that turn innovation from episodic initiatives into a structural practice of urban management.
