BalanceUnbalance (BunB), directed by Prof. Dr. Ricardo Dal Farra, is an international event that, since 2010, has promoted interdisciplinary dialogues on the environmental crisis, having taken place in countries such as Argentina, Canada, Australia, the United States, Colombia, England, and the Netherlands. Its mission is to create spaces for reflection and action that bring together science, art, technology, and society in the search for solutions to climate and urban challenges.
In 2025, BunB: EMERGE – Ecopoetics for the Climate Crisis proposes a hybrid roundtable connecting researchers and institutions in a collaborative network, fostering research and the creation of alternatives for fairer and more sustainable cities. The concept of “emerge” draws inspiration from the complex systems of nature, living organisms, and extreme climate events, leading to ecopoetic propositions for new ways of inhabiting and coexisting in harmony with the planet.
BunB: EMERGE highlights the role of art in shaping the future, with an emphasis on immersive audiovisual poetics—such as fulldome and videomapping—capable of raising awareness, proposing solutions, and driving social transformation. By combining technodiverse innovations and ecosystemic reflections, the event offers new pathways to rethink energy use and to harness the creative potential of communication technologies. Through dialogue and exchange, BunB 2025 seeks to contribute to confronting the climate and urban crises, strengthening the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to the reconstruction of creative, resilient, and sustainable cities.
