The event “Applied Territorial Management and the Dignity of the Urban Person”, organized by the State Commission on Urban Law of the OAB/MG, will discuss in a practical and multidisciplinary way how territorial management guidelines within Brazilian law can be connected to the use of geospatial data, artificial intelligence, and innovative methodologies to foster more inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities. The focus will be on building urban policies that uphold human dignity, a constitutional principle that underpins the right to the city and to adequate housing.
Aligned with the Urban Circuit 2025 theme “Facing Urban Challenges: Pathways to Just and Sustainable Cities” and the thematic line “Data, Innovation and Smart Cities”, the event will bring together authorities, specialists, and public managers in interdisciplinary panels to share experiences, case studies from Minas Gerais, as well as practical recommendations.
The initiative aims to inspire public managers, professionals, and civil society to understand how innovation and territorial governance can help reduce inequalities, strengthen social justice, and integrate the climate dimension into the development of smart cities for the present and the future.
