This event is part of the Urban Circuit 2025 agenda and aims to present the results of diagnostic studies developed under the Integrated Environmental Sanitation Plans and the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plans. Based on the systematization of technical, territorial, and participatory data, the event will promote a dialogue on the main challenges identified and the pathways to be considered in the Solutions Study phase. The event is proposed in a hybrid format, with live streaming and in-person participation of panelists and invited guests. The program will feature a technical presentation of the diagnostic results, followed by two discussion panels (one focused on sanitation and another on waste management) bringing together experts, public managers, academia, and civil society. The approach will be participatory and interactive, creating a space for collective dialogue and co-creation of guidelines for the next phase of the plans. Aligned with the main theme of UN-Habitat’s Urban Circuit 2025 — “Addressing Urban Challenges: Pathways to Just and Sustainable Cities” — the event directly addresses the pillars of urban sustainability and equitable access to sanitation and waste management services. The diagnostic highlights structural inequalities across urban territories, and the ensuing discussions will seek integrated solutions to overcome them, strengthening local governance and long-term planning.
