Accelerating Urban Action for a Carbon-Free World - Actions in the Energy Sector

We can reduce Green House Gas emissions from cities by almost 90% by 2050 by immediately taking technically feasible, widely available actions. As we plan and develop the ‘15-minute city’, we also need to make the provision of basic services such as waste management, transport, energy and water and sanitation more resource-efficient and financially viable. Hawaii is the first state in the U.S. to present a comprehensive Voluntary Local Review on progress to meet the UN Sustainable Development goals by 2030 at the statewide level and joins cities from LA to New York, Bristol, Helsinki and others around the world to report progress.
