World Habitat Day, 2021 Celebration

The Ogun State Government will join the league of States and Cities in the world to celebrate the 2021 World Habitat Day on 4th October 2021 following the successful and noted outing of the 2020 edition. The event is scheduled to hold at the Obas Complex, State Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. His Excellency Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, Governor Ogun State, is the Chief Celebrant. The event will feature a Guest Speaker Professor Kayode Oyesiku speaking on, “Effects of Urbanization and Land Use Changes on Green House Gas Emission: Way Out”, and four discussants/panellists with these sub-themes: “Building Back Greener for Carbon-Free Ogun State”; “Cities and Pandemic: Towards a more Just, Green and Healthy Ogun State”; “Government Role and Framework towards Carbon-Free Ogun State”; and “Green Mobility: The Future of Urban Transport in Ogun State”. Physical participants are drawn from a broad spectrum of stakeholders including, government agencies, academia, educational institutions, corporate organizations, NGOs, the physically challenged with interpreters, professional associations and trade unions, and women groups. A Zoom meeting has also been setup to afford wider non-physical audience participation due to restrictions of COVID-19. There will also be exhibitions during the event.
