We will showcase youth-led and community-driven initiatives that are addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges in urban displacement settings of Juba South Sudan.
The event will bring together youth leaders, humanitarian responders, and local authorities to discuss sustainable and inclusive WASH solutions, including:
• Solar-powered boreholes
• Community-managed water kiosks
• Hygiene promotion campaigns
• Climate-smart sanitation systems
Through panel discussions, video case studies, and interactive dialogue, participants will explore how grassroots innovations can contribute to more resilient and inclusive urban communities — particularly in informal settlements and camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The event aligns with Urban October’s themes of inclusive urban development, youth engagement, and sustainable service delivery in cities under pressure. It also emphasizes the urgent need for cross-sector partnerships and investment in local leadership to advance the New Urban Agenda in fragile urban contexts.
