Recife City Park Seminar - A Letter from Futre Recife

"The seminar, titled “Recife City Park: A Letter from Future Recife to Present Recife”, will address the impact of climate change on Recife, the vulnerability of the capital of Pernambuco (considered the most threatened in Brazil due to rising sea levels), and potential solutions to adapt the city to environmental challenges. This event is scheduled for October 25, 2023, at the Apolo 235 auditorium in Bairro do Recife. It is part of the 2023 RXN - Society (Recife Exchange Netherlands International Forum) and the 2023 Urban Circuit. During the seminar, the “Letter from Future Recife to Present Recife”, elaborated during the previous RXN event in 2021, will be unveiled. In this document, Recife takes on the role of a poetic first-person narrator, celebrating the city's “amphibious” nature, surrounded by rivers and the sea, and calling upon society to mobilize for its future in the face of environmental threats."
