The 2026 National Urban Forum will take place on October 6–7 at the Northern Government Platform Auditorium in Quito. Under the theme “Territories That Connect Lives” and marking ten years since Habitat III, the Forum will provide a national platform for dialogue and collective action on Ecuador’s progress and challenges in sustainable urban development, promoting inclusive, resilient, and people-centered cities. The Forum will present and discuss strategic instruments aimed at strengthening public policy and territorial management, including: • Strategic Guide for a Paradigm Shift in Territorial Planning Applied to Public Space; • Complete Streets Guide; • Progress on Ecuador’s Sustainable Habitat Agenda (AHSE); and • Progress on Ecuador’s Public Space Policy (PEEP). The program will feature a keynote address by Gil Peñalosa, panel discussions, technical presentations, and working sessions, fostering dialogue and collaboration among the National Government, local governments, the private sector, academia, international organizations, and civil society.
