The event will discuss strategies to strengthen institutionalized urban planning in Brazil, integrating data, technical capacities, and financing within the context of the National System of Urban Development (SNDU) and the National Policy for Urban Development (PNDU). Key observations from InREDE will be presented, based on a comparative analysis of the draft PNDU documents, with emphasis on the creation of the National Urban Development Fund and the coordination between sectoral policies. The activity is part of the thematic line “Data, Innovation, and Smart Cities” and directly aligns with the Urban Circuit 2025 theme by proposing structural solutions to urban challenges through institutional consolidation and evidence-based governance. The event will bring together federal government representatives, planning institutes, specialists, and international organizations, providing a strategic opportunity to strengthen alliances around urban planning as the foundation for sustainable, just, and innovative cities.
