Initiated in Rio Grande do Sul amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the “No Home Without a Bathroom” project is an initiative by the Architecture and Urbanism Council of Rio Grande do Sul. It emerges in response to a serious issue in Brazilian cities related to unequal access to public goods and services, as well as adequate housing. The initiative is firmly rooted in the promotion of Law 11.888/2008 - ATHIS. The event’s proposal is driven by the official release of the documentary “Nenhuma Casa Sem Banheiro” (No Home Without a Bathroom). Through this documentary, the event aims to to foster a discussion regarding access to water and sanitation in conjunction with the right to housing and the city. The goal is to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda. This event will be held in a virtual panel discussion format, featuring representatives from governments, public institutions, and civil society organizations who are at the forefront of addressing this issue. It will also include those responsible for coordinating the projects implemented in Canoas/RS and Brasília/DF.
