To live is more than to inhabit ("Viver é Mais do que Morar")

The main objective of the Jaime Lerner Institute is to awaken a positive awareness and stimulate an innovative vision of the transforming potential of cities, building on the legacy of the architect and manager Jaime Lerner. In this event, we will approach three different social housing projects. The architect and master in Urban Planning and Public Policy (UFPR), Érika Poleto, will bring the context of the global cost of implementing the “Minha Casa Minha Vida” program in Brazil; Valéria Bechara, partner at Jaime Lerner Arquitetos Associados (JLAA) will present the “Comunidades Urbanas” housing project, which she coordinated in Angola; Back in Brazil, Ariadne dos Santos Daher and Felipe Guerra, also members of JLAA and coordinators of the “Diretrizes de Macroestruturação Urbana para o Município de Santos” project, on the three different strategies proposed for social housing in the municipality.
