In the heart of Cairo, Egypt, a city where history intertwines with modernity, a transformative event in alignment with Urban October and World Cities Day is about to unfold. On the horizon of October 25th and 26th, an Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC), an initiative of World Urban Campaign of UN-Habitat, titled 'Heat Stress Resilience: Translating Strategy into Urban Climate Actions' will bring together minds and hearts, determined to forge a path towards a more sustainable and resilient urban future. Recognizing the urgency of action, the UTC is a beacon of hope. Hosted by the Urban Development Fund (UDF) which affiliated to the Egyptian cabinet and co-organized by partners like GIZ Egypt, Habitat for Humanity International , Cairo University, Resilient Urban Planning and Development (RUPD) GbR Germany, , and TU Berlin, this gathering is not merely an event—it's a commitment to change. The journey towards heat stress resilience has begun, and the city is set to emerge stronger, more united, and better prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
