Contributions to National Housing Policy

The Forum seeks to gather funds for the creation of a National Housing Policy in Sao Tome and Principe, within reason of a sustainable development, to solve the current housing deficit, especially among people in financial vulnerability. Identify ways to establish and regulate the contribution of the housing sector and examine measures to tackle social injustice in terms of housing access. Several contributions will be considered, including a Proposal for the Spatial Planning, with emphasis on its steering role; planning and administration of areas for housing construction, allotment and urbanization; the role of new construction technologies in large-scale production of quality "low cost" housing; as well as the possibility of private funding for social housing projects as an alternative to the current state funding model.
