The city we want: The collective effort of a Fluminense Urban Agenda on inclusive cities

The Manifesto “The City we want” is result of a collective work that including nearly thirty civil society organizations and entities, worried about the deepening of socioeconomic exclusion and territorial segregation of the most vulnerable groups of our cities. Its construction began from a meeting at IAB-RJ, where many colleagues involved with urban and housing issues demanded solutions to a better future. The pandemic worsened a violent context, claiming lives and forcing us to rethink our predatory models of development, showing that our cities remain a site of inequality, cruelly embodied in the territory. Therefore, we collectively produced proposals that reflect the collective agreement of our members, under the coordination of Brazilian Institute of Architects (IAB) of Rio de Janeiro – IAB-RJ.
