The “Meu Oceano” Institute holds a debate on how urban cleaning is an important tool for sustainable development. Waste management in cities and communities is essential to develop an understanding of the circular economy and, at the same time, helps to create jobs. We will present two panels lasting one hour each, and in the first panel we will discuss “Systemic failures and the leakage of solid waste in water resources”, with the participation of two specialists in the area, private management in Brazil and public management in Angola, and in the second panel we will talk about “The importance of private sector investment within communities to foster the circular economy”, where we will have the participation of the private sector (DOW Química) together with the NGO “Reciclagem Verde”, which manages waste within of communities in Angola.
