This roundtable, The urban counter-reform, processes of financialization in cities and law, is part of the event City standard in the pandemic and post-pandemic period, rights in motion: setbacks and resistances" which aims to contribute to the debate on public urban policies, in a post-COVID-19 pandemic context, based on necessary reflections on the ongoing processes of setbacks to human rights, and the potentiation of strategies from the perspective of the city's social function able to collaborate in the construction of possible alternatives, especially in terms of the standardization of cities, which serves as evidence of expanding inequality. The aggravation of vulnerabilities is rooted and consolidated from a socioeconomic reality driven by processes of market extension and austerity policies that cause setbacks in the plane of normative constructions, judicial decisions and urban projects.
