Submit your event report for Urban October, World Habitat Day, and World Cities Day

Thank you for contributing to Urban October, focused this year on promoting a better urban future for cities globally through youth action. UN-Habitat wishes to highlight the diverse range of inspiring events held worldwide during Urban October and encourages event organizers to submit their report(s) for inclusion in UN-Habitat’s 2024 Urban October Report.

This year, the report will focus on the outcomes, key messages, and recommendations from the events, capturing and sharing insights and ideas for action.

Below are instructions on how to submit your entry:

  • Submit your entry in English, where possible, ensuring all questions in the submission form are answered.
  • Provide the event title, the name of the organizing body, and the activity you are reporting on (World Habitat Day, World Cities Day, or Urban October) along with the event date.
  • Provide a contact email, organization website (if applicable), and spell out abbreviations on first use (e.g. World Health Organization (WHO). An abbreviations list will be included in the report.
  • Specify the region (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, North America, Oceania), city, and country where your event took place.
  • Report on the event type (in-person or virtual).
  • Indicate whether the event is a one-off or part of a series.
  • Provide the number of male and female attendees.
  • List the dignitaries present (e.g., leaders, ministers).
  • Describe the event, its purpose, and key highlights (50–150 words).
  • Share lessons learned, key findings (50–150 words), and recommendations or actions (50–150 words).
  • Provide up to two quotes with the speaker(s)’ name and organization.
  • Upload up to five high-quality photos (maximum 100 MB each) with captions and copyright details
