On the eve of COP30, to be held in Belém in 2025, the Paris Agreement and other global pacts return to the center of the debate: how can international commitments be translated into local practices?
This webinar proposes a critical and collaborative reflection on the implications of this agreement for the work of architects, urban planners, public managers, economists, and researchers in Brazil—both domestically and abroad.
Brazil has committed to ambitious targets: ending illegal deforestation, restoring forests, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. However, as António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, warns, climate action will only be effective if it transforms cities—currently responsible for 70% of carbon emissions, heat islands, and disasters such as floods and landslides.
In this meeting, Brazilian professionals at the forefront of sustainable urban transformation will share experiences, challenges, and perspectives on projects that connect multiple scales and contexts: from Belo Horizonte to Paris, from São Paulo to Toulouse, and through Niterói, Recife, and many other cities.
The webinar will present inspiring trajectories in urbanism, landscape architecture, mobility, economics, public management, international cooperation, and community engagement.
This webinar was born from the desire to bring these voices together, making visible, valuing, and connecting those committed to the mission of transforming and preparing our cities for the challenges of the next decade.
