The event “From Social to Environmental: Connections for a Sustainable Future” will gather representatives from the Dara Institute, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the Rio de Janeiro Secretariat for the Environment in a live webinar lasting up to two hours. The meting will focus on the challenges and pathways for building fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable cities, from an intersectional perspective.
The experience of the Dara Institute with the Family Action Plan (PAF) will be presented as an example of an innovative methodology for fighting poverty, integrating areas such as health, education, citizenship, income generation, and housing. Housing, in particular, will be highlighted as a central axis for reducing social vulnerabilities, linking directly to sustainability and climate justice.
Designed as a roundtable conversation, the event aims to foster collective reflections on how civil society, the State, and international organizations can work in an integrated way to reduce urban inequalities, inspiring transformative practices and strengthening the socio-environmental agenda in Brazil.
