The webinar “Quality in Recycling: Building a Circular Future” aims to discuss strategies for improving the circular economy, based on research on recyclable material sorting patterns conducted by the ECOAR Cluster. The event will address recycling challenges, aligned with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), aiming to reduce inequalities and promote more efficient environmental practices.
Guides developed by the Network for Plastic Circularity and diagnostic results on sorting quality in cooperatives will be shared, with an emphasis on the social and productive inclusion of this community. The panel will be multisectoral, featuring participation from UFRGS, the ECOAR Cluster, the Network for Plastic Circularity, the National Association of Recyclable Material Collectors (ANCAT), and Plastiweber, to discuss innovations that can transform the recycling chain, highlighting the role of data and information in building more sustainable cities.
