Urban Replanning in Municipalities of up to 50,000 Inhabitants

The event “Adequate Housing and Land Regularization: Pathways to Sustainable Cities" is part of the Adequate Housing at the Core of Urban Planning topic and focuses on discussing Urban Land Regularization (Reurb) as an essential tool to face the lack of dignified housing and promote the reorganization of urban space. Structured as a roundtable discussion, the event will feature technical presentations and debates offering analyses of the national context, in which municipalities with up to 50,000 inhabitants account for 80% of Brazil’s territory. It will highlight the potential of these localities to implement urban (re)planning solutions more quickly and effectively. The event’s approach emphasizes how the implementation of Reurb can contribute to more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient cities, connecting the right to housing with social justice and positive climate action.
