Theme: Right to the City: Decent Housing as a Pillar of Urban Justice in Paulista — Our home is the city as a whole
Focus: The central axis of the event is the right to the city as a fundamental human right, with emphasis on decent housing as a pillar of urban justice. The goal is to build local action agendas in vulnerable territories, articulating proposals that strengthen fairer, more inclusive, and more sustainable housing policies in the municipality of Paulista/PE.
Format: Pre-event: identification of community leaders; documentation of territorial realities (photos and videos); technical visits; and the creation of Community Tents as exhibition spaces for local problems and solutions.
Event: institutional opening; thematic panels with specialists; exhibitions in the Community Tents; collective construction of the Living Map of the City; active listening and cross-sector debate; systematization of proposals and approval of the Charter for Urban Justice in Paulista/PE.
Post-event: interactive exhibition of the Living Map of the City and collective tree planting.
Approach: The methodology will be participatory, territorialized, and cross-sectoral, integrating public authorities, civil society, academia, and grassroots movements. A direct experiencet in the territories, combined with active community listening, will enable strategic reflections and the formulation of practical, feasible actions — from guidelines for urban planning to concrete low-cost solutions — strengthening urban justice as an everyday practice.
