Aterro Zero: Sustainable Management for Municipalities

The central theme of the event “Aterro Zero [Zero Landfill]: Sustainable Management for Municipalities” is the presentation of the project being developed by the Municipality of Taquarituba-SP to eliminate the use of landfills, replacing them with a facility for sorting, reuse, and treatment of solid waste. The format will be a panel discussion bringing together the Mayor, a City Council member, municipal technicians, environmental specialists, and representatives of civil society to discuss challenges, technological solutions, and the proposed model of local governance. The approach will be practical and collaborative, aiming to share the municipality’s experience in pursuing more efficient, cleaner, and more inclusive waste management. The event directly aligns with the theme of the Urban Circuit 2025 by proposing a transformative local action that promotes socio-environmental justice, circular economy, and more sustainable cities, within the thematic line Waste Management and Circular Economy.
