The event presents the results of research conducted in the course Sustainable Urban Management, part of the PPGUSRN – Graduate Program in Sustainable Use of Natural Resources at IFRN, Natal Central Campus. Designed as a “summary for policymakers,” the focus is on transforming academic diagnostics into concrete proposals, bringing students, public managers, and civil society closer together.
The work explores four critical challenges facing the capital of Rio Grande do Norte: the absence of selective waste collection, obstacles to enforcing environmental regulations, the sustainability of local tourism, and barriers to urban accessibility. The methodology prioritizes clarity and conciseness, offering practical courses of action for each issue.
More than presenting analyses, the event aims to stimulate dialogue between academia, public authorities, and the community, strengthening informed and collaborative decision-making toward a more just, inclusive, and sustainable Natal.
