Urban Heat Hackathon - UN80

Urban Heat Hackathon 2025 is a 48-hour innovation challenge hosted by Naseej, UN-Habitat Bahrain, and the SDG Science Centre on 25–27 October 2025. Aligned with Urban October’s “Urban Crisis Response” theme and the UN80 celebration, the event invites Bahrain’s innovators (18+) to design practical solutions for urban heat resilience. With Bahrain facing 100–150 days above 40°C each year—projected to reach 180 days by 2100—the hackathon positions Naseej and UN-Habitat as partners driving cooling innovation. Teams will compete across five challenge categories. Winners will receive prizes, up to six months of incubation at Naseej facilities, and opportunities to pilot their solutions at Nasayim Arad with dedicated implementation budgets.
