Supporting safe and resilient urban settlements in Sri Lanka

UN-Habitat Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development, Construction and Housing, will mark World Habitat Day 2025 through a national event on 6 October 2025 under the theme “Urban Crisis Response.” The event will be graced by the President, H.E. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and will bring together a wide range of stakeholders – government, civil society, local communities, private sector, and media. Proceedings will be telecast nationally, primarily in local languages, with translation provided if international invitees are confirmed (discussions are ongoing).
