“Leaders in Innovation: The Roles of Architects for Livable, Equitable, and Smart Cities"

The University of the Philippines College of Architecture (UPCA), through the Urban Design Studio Laboratory and the Extension Program Office, will hold a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar entitled “Leaders in Innovation: The Roles of Architects for Livable, Equitable, and Smart Cities.” The event will be on October 4, 2024 (Friday), 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM, at the Benito Sy Pow Auditorium, UPCA Complex, U.P. Diliman, and online via Zoom. Each October, the UPCA Urban Design Studio joins the global Urban October campaign, promoting sustainable, inclusive cities. This year, in partnership with UAP Diliman Chapter and MEFP Specialty Builders, Inc., along with Diestro Electrical Supply Services, LGF Design and Build, and SKY ARCH Corporation, we expect 100 in-person and 150 online attendees. Architects today, by leveraging digital tools, optimize building performance, enhance user experience, and drive community engagement. The profession addresses key 21st-century challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and social inequality. Featured speakers include Ar. EnP. Donna Tabangin, Ar. Ian Fulgar, and Ar. Dessica Salvador, who will share insights on smart cities, AI in architecture, and participatory planning. Join us in this seminar to explore solutions for building more livable and inclusive urban environments.
