North Macedonia - Urban October on World Cities Day

With the celebration of the World Cities Day - October 31, Habitat Macedonia has concluded the Urban October campaign in North Macedonia. This year, World Cities Day takes on the theme of Financing a Sustainable Urban Future for All, with a focus on ways of investing that can contribute to urban planning. With several projects implemented by Habitat Macedonia, activities are undertaken specifically for urbanization and improvement of housing for residents of informal settlements. With the campaign Home Equals at the local and national level we are working on the challenges in housing in the municipalities of Kumanovo and Shuto Orizari with a particular focus on reducing inequality in housing, equal access to water, electricity, and basic services for all citizens regardless of their ethnic, gender, social, religious, or other affiliation. For the conclusion of "Urban October", a month in which together with UN Habitat and Habitat for Humanity International we conduct activities all over the world to raise public awareness of the importance of housing, we also received support from our friends from the municipalities of Karposh, Kočani and Delčevo, partners in the EU funded project EXCITE.
