"The speakers will discuss the impact of the New Urban Agenda in Latin America and Africa, based on the experiences in cities in Argentina, Brazil, and Mozambique, with a focus on: A. Resilient and adaptive urban and regional planning: New forms of urban and regional planning that have emerged in response to socio-environmental crises resulting from the effects of climate change and the growing risks of disasters. The discussion will center around the extent to which cities are implementing genuinely resilient and adaptive community-based strategies to enhance efficiency. B. Housing and habitat: The other axis of discussion, closely related to the first and stemming from land market regulation, is the integration of popular neighbourhoods (or informal settlements) and the production of adequate and affordable housing."
