Mehmet Özhaseki

Hon. Mehmet Özhaseki is the Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. He has been actively involved in social foundations serving disadvantaged groups. He initiated projects such as Kayseri's first soup kitchen, student scholarships, and winter fuel funds. In 1994, he became the Mayor of Melikgazi, and in 1998, the Mayor of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, winning five consecutive elections. His term was marked by the "Özhaseki Model Municipal Management" and projects like the UEFA-standard Kayseri Stadium, the Yamula Dam, and the Mount Erciyes tourism and ski centre. Serving as the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, he launched projects like "Urban Planning Council", "Our City", and "Zero Waste", and revitalized regions affected by terrorism.
