Production of Black territories and territorialities

We are keenly interested in discussing the roles of Black individuals and Afro-diasporic communities, which naturally lead us to address topics like environmental racism, racially biased urban planning, socio-spatial segregation, the problematic processes of gentrification, urban violence, urban sustainability, ethnic and social inequalities, and the creation of Black territories and identities. This discussion is deeply connected to decolonial thinking, as well as the resistance and uprisings of Black people and ethnic minorities within cities that are predominantly white and driven by capitalism. In essence, we seek a thoughtful reflection on the future of cities in the Global South and the pivotal roles played by Black communities and ethnic minorities as catalysts for genuine social development. This places Afro-descendants and indigenous communities at the forefront, prompting us to consider their invaluable contributions to our society.
