Tasu Mendes Panel - Education and Citizen Community

"The purpose of the Tasu Panel is to share educational experiences in both school and community settings that have emerged from the implementation of Humanized, Full-Time Education, and Learning Communities in Mendes, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Tasu is based on the concepts of full-time education and educational territory. Its aim is to help individuals establish connections and interactions between formal education, pedagogical processes, and life within cities. This approach realizes the ideas of a ""learning neighbourhood,"" ""neighbourhood circles,"" and the interconnectedness of curricula related to personal development, community, and the broader global context. The partnership with the Mendes Department of Education is founded on the fact that the concept of a 'learning community', currently adopted in the Public Education Network of Mendes, aligns with the guidelines of the Brazilian National Education Law (LDB). It presupposes a harmonious relationship between the curriculum and the social, cultural, economic, and natural environment inhabited by the students, their families, and educational professionals."
