The event will take place in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions with live streaming. It will feature an integrated panel discussion involving representatives from companies operating in the Amazon, mayors, and international institutions. The goal is to explore potential multi-level and multi-stakeholder cooperation opportunities to boost local income generation and environmental conservation. Key topics will include Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives aimed at reinforcing sustainable socioeconomic development in the region's cities. The overarching objective is to set examples at both regional and national levels, with a particular eye on COP 30 in Belém. This session will be organized within the framework of the Second Regional Meeting of ICLEI Amazon, focusing on “Economic and Sustainable Development in the Amazon”. The discussion centers around strategies for income generation, socioeconomic progress, environmental preservation, climate change mitigation, and biodiversity protection at the local government level in the Amazon region.
