World Habitat Day 2023 - Memorandum of cooperation with the Municipality of Kumanovo

On the occasion of World Habitat Day, Maxim Dimitrievski, Mayor of Kumanovo Municipality and Liljana Alcheva, Deputy Program Director - Habitat Macedonia within the global campaign "Home Equals" of Habitat for Humanity, signed a memorandum of cooperation. "We are celebrating the World Habitat Day in the most appropriate way, with the memorandum of cooperation that is an expression of the will of Habitat Macedonia to influence local and national policies and to draw the public's attention to the needs of the residents of informal settlements.", said Liliana Alcheva, Deputy Program Director - Habitat Macedonia. "It is in the interest of the residents of Osmanov Rid and in general all the citizens of Kumanovo that together with Habitat Macedonia we do everything in our power to change the situation and provide real homes for all the people .", stressed Dimitrievski. Dimitrievski and Alcheva marked the start of the "Urban October" campaign, which UN-Habitat and Habitat for Humanity started all over the world in order to raise public awareness of the importance of housing. A Local Leadership Group was established in Kumanovo, which will work within the framework of the "Home Equals" project. The participants met the residents facing the housing problems.
