The 2023 edition of World Habitat Day in Cameroon is being celebrated this year in the city of Garoua, located in the North Region of Cameroon. This celebration is preceded by the organisation of a housing week marked by several activities, including a waste picketing march, the planting of 1,000 trees by administrative and municipal authorities, pupils and students, and a reforestation campaign, co-organised by the municipalities of the city of Garoua in particular, a press briefing to announce the event, media appearances, special broadcasts on Cameroon Radio Television, round tables, dialogues and thematic sessions on topics identified by the Scientific Committee in relation to the central theme. The day was launched today, 25 September 2023, with an inaugural sports walk, followed by the planting of 1,000 trees by the administrative and municipal authorities, pupils and students. The afternoon will be devoted to a press briefing to announce the event to the media.
