Acting local to promote a better urban future

To promote community participation and generate knowledge in the creation of a better urban future, the Municipal Government of Santa Maria del Oro, Nayarit through the Municipal Planning Institute will hold the Forum "Acting locally to promote a better urban future". This forum will present the importance of planning cities to address climate change and how municipal planning institutes have an important role in this task; as a result of partnerships for the achievement of these SDG 17 goals, the results of the research conducted by Dr. Da Porthos Rocha of Senior Experten Service of Germany will be presented. It will be suggestions on sustainable mobility to contribute to the urban development planning of the municipality. It should be noted that students and professors from the Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit participated in this study, as well as the Centro Nayarita de Innovación y Transferencia Tecnológica and the Centro de Estudios y Capacitación con Prospectiva. This forum will be attended by 120 people: students from more than 5 universities, professional associations in the construction area and local and state government authorities.
