Nakuru-1st Urban Dialogue

As Nakuru sets on the path to define its new city vision 2050, Urban October month presents a unique platform to provoke debate on the kind of vision that would best capture the common aspirations of the citizens. The 2021 theme of the World Cities Day to be observed on 31 October 2021, namely ‘Better City, Better life’ presents an appropriate setting to anchor the dialogue and debate on the key principles of the Just City. These principles that entail dignity, equity and diversity, rights and responsibilities, and democracy complement the New Urban Agenda, Agenda 2063, It is against this backdrop that the Nakuru Municipal Board, in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and its partners, have convened a local dialogue in Nakuru in observance of the World Cities Day 2021. Convening under the adopted theme of “Better and Just City, Better Life”, the local dialogue will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors in Nakuru to commence debate on the ‘Nakuru We Want’. The dialogue will be held at Sarova Hotel on Friday 29 October 2021 starting 09:00H to 13:00H, and also live streamed for virtual audiences
