BiciBús

After a very successful editions of Bicibús Eixample, the line is organized by three family associations (Joan Miró, Entença and Xirinacs schools), together with the Camí Amic organization. The Bicibús will start from Plaça Conxa Pérez every Friday at 8:25 am. There is a fixed route along the road and BiciBús wants to promote safe school trips by bicycle and also the healthy use of bicycles and sustainable mobility. Families, adults and children, cycle in groups to school destinations. The Bicibús aims to show that there is a great demand for families who want to travel to schools by bicycle and claims the need of a change in the city model, specifically in the Eixample, to allow children to reach schools safely by bike. The families of the schools on Entença street have been demanding for it to stop being an urban motorway and become a healthier and safer road. Around 1500 children are schooled on a 3-lane street where up to 20,000 vehicles circulate on a regular day. The pollution and poor air quality apart from the noise levels are no proper environment for the healthy development of the children.
